Audra

Hi Crafty Crime Crew! My name is Audra. I'm a freelance artist living in Florida. My obsession with all things scary (from hauntingly eery to truly terrifying) started, you guessed it - in the horror section of the VHS rental store. Scary movies have always been my favorite genre and I come alive during the month of October. Halloween's the natural time of the year I get to combine my two favorite things: spooky and crafts.

When I made a career change from an art director in the corporate world to an art teacher for K-8, I found some free time during my first summer off since college. Finally, I had 11 weeks to consume true crime podcasts and documentaries without anyone around to tell me to change the channel. While I listened, I painted. This calmed me.

Fast forward to the insane year of 2020, I meet a cool chick named Treasure who wants to make stuff and talk about horrific crimes. Umm, yes please. How the hell else am I going to cope with this crazy world? And after a few conversations back and forth, Crafting and True Crime was born.

Treasure

Hi Crafty Crime Crew!!! My name is Treasure and I'm from south Florida, yes the best state for absurd crimes. Currently I have the very fortunate job of staying home and teaching my children.

When I was a kid we woke up every Saturday morning and watched cartoons. Also on Saturday was the creature feature. Sometimes it was aliens, other times it was a mutant lizard destroying cities, and my favorite was whatever Elvira was hosting. I love everything creepy, spooky, Halloweeny so it's no surprise that I fell into true crime. The people in real life are way scarier than any monster I ever saw in those movies.

I have always craved creating. I enjoy making props for Halloween. My favorite medium to work with has been resin. I'm kinda a "go big or go home" type of girl and never shy away from trying creative things. I currently am trying to find a safe place to learn how to weld.

I can't thank Audra enough for reaching out in this world. It was such a simple question but it has made such a big difference in my life. Be yourself, be brave, and remember you don't have to care what people think because sometimes things are just for your own happiness.
